Illustration of Abandonment Series Vol. 2
It's official, this a real series. My last post as the Vol. 1.
My wonderful husband has the best theme song for this series, Where Rainbows Never Die, by the SteelDrivers. Check out the song here.
I found that no matter what my camera is pointing at, whether it's beautiful couples, gorgeous (or not so) landscape, or a great game I'm in my happy place. My camera allows me to tell a story about how I feel about the situation I'm in, and to tell the stories of those around me.
So, with this series, I get to tell a story that I know, or I get to make it up as I go along. This is going to be so awesome! I'm very excited about it, and I hope you all enjoy it as well.
This story is about a house. I've always {lovingly} known this place as "The Big House". The history of the Big House is this: many kids clamoring around their grandparents' feet, wrapping paper all over the front room floor at Christmas time, big meals, small favorite meals, lots of love, and so much laughing. Unfortunately, now the Big House after too many years of sitting vacant, well, the new story will unfold in the following images...
I know to many of you reading this and seeing these images, it looks like garbage or an old run down dump. But to me and my camera, it's beautiful.
There's contrast.
There's texture.
There's color.
There's depth.
There's a story!
And I loved telling it!!
